What Draws Professional TalentAs a world-class destination resort region, the Coachella Valley has always been a home to chief executive officers and company owners, from nationally known Fortune 500 to small businesses. The Coachella Valley's vibrant lifestyle, including golf, tennis, fine dining, cultural events and perfect weather is a magnet for companies relocating to the Coachella Valley. ![]() The Desert Sun "Typically, CEOS have had a vacation condo here for years, then they buy a larger house, then they spend more and more time out here and decide to move part or all of their business here," says Rick Daniels, president and chief executive officer of the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership. "They say, 'since I spend more time in the desert, that's where my business should be.' " Another key reason is affordable land for building a plant or warehouse. "We have a lot of business move out and their employees find they can afford to buy a home, many for the first time," he said. "Think of the loyalty that builds." Among the many success stories, Daniels recalled how a business owner in the import business and convention promotions decided to move his business to the desert. Why? "He found he could have products imported to Long Beach or Los Angeles Harbors and build a new warehouse in the desert for less money than his current operation through the Oakland port." This owner already had a part-time home in the Coachella Valley. |
